Rain Comes To The Desert
It's roughly 5:30am as I type. Last night the sound of the rain on the Spanish tiles was too tempting and I went to bed at 7:30pm. It does not make a sound like a normal roof would, but rather a tinkling similar to a wind chime.
I like being up this early though. It's a very peaceful time of day and I am enjoying viewing the clouds through the shutters.
The camper is pretty much packed. I can see it through the window from where I sit. When I get out of work at 2pm today all we'll have to do is grab our refrigerated items and ago. Friends that we are meeting up in the mountains advised us to come early because of the snow warning. Snow warning? I'm still finding this hard to believe. --But I hope it does snow. How fun. My girlfriend that is going called me yesterday all excited. Her two year old son has never seen snow. What a treat.
I have this vision of us sitting around the campfire in the snow while drinking hot spiced wine. I'm sitting here smiling. My husband seems to be operating on this undercurrent of excitement as well and I love to see him happy. Even the dog seems to know there is something going on. It looks like the excitement about this coming weekend is contagious.
Hurry up 2 o'clock!
