Michael Moore, where are you when I need you???
A few weeks ago I chose new insurance benefits for work. I was suprised to find out how much more expensive the cost was than before. I have been at my job now for almost three years. I am a good employee. I don't take tons of time off that isn't already coming to me, nor do I call in sick for a sniffle. So far I have had two reviews and I have gotten the maximum amount for an increase both times.
Unfortunately this does not matter. Due to the rise of insurance costs I am bringing home $30 less than I was when I first started in 2005. I received my first check after choosing benefits which believe me, were nothing to write home about in the first place.
There was an email that went out awhile ago about the company increasing the cost of benefits because this was the average rate that other employers were charging. What I want to know is how do they expect to keep above average people with rates like these? I have been promoted only to be "demoted" twice now. How does this even make sense?
I think some action on my part may be in order soon. *sigh*
